Lately, I’ve been gravitating towards wine from the north end of the valley. Of course the pedigree and history behind Araujo and Altagracia (named after his grandmother) is as awesome as this Bordeaux blend wine. The 2012 availability just made it all the nicer.

Drinking really well. Tannins are full integrated, blind would have you believe Bordeaux. Excellent wine.

Starts out as a Cali cab and moves into a Bordeaux style wine with air. I’d let it go for a while longer as the tannins are still pronounced

In such a great place with several years ahead of it. Crushed violets, chocolate and tobacco abound. Yes please!

Excellent. Not over extracted, overly tannic. Just perfect with short ribs.

Absolutely delicious and super well-balanced. I'm impressed especially considering this is Araujo's third (!) label. I'm not sure they even make the Altagracia II anymore, think just the Altagracia? Can't remember how or where I acquired this but wish I had more!

Garnet with slight signs of age on the edges. Black cherry on the nose spice and dark fruit on the palette. Medium bodied with smooth tannins.

Eisele Vineyard ‘Altagracia’ 2012: Medium-full bodied. Elegant balance. Fine-grained tannins. Ripe delicious flavors of black fruits, plum & cherry, graphite, vanilla & oak. Smooth memorable finish. Consisting of 71% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Petit Verdot, 8% Cabernet Franc, 6% Merlot & 4% Malbec, this Bordeaux-style red blend from Napa was a big winner! Strong aromas, smooth rich flavors. Drinking amazingly well right now. Highly recommend. Great weekend to all. Cheers🍷
