Antonin rodet 2011 chateau de mercey, mercurey. Bought at cellar door in 2016 and drunk in 2017. Worth noting it is one of the most accommodating cellar doors in burgundy. For one of the entry level wines this is very good value. Buttery colour and some fried butter on the bouquet. Unsurprisingly a lightly buttery taste but with good lemony acidity which makes it refreshing and can cut through oily fish with a nice mouthfeel. For an every day drinking wine this comes highly recommended

Apr 28th, 20172012 Mercurey Pinot, while the prices continue to soar, this is one commune you can still find reasonable wine, at reasonable prices. Good fruit classic Pinot qualities. Worth a tipple.

Jul 25th, 2015Delicate and feminine in style - an interesting contrast to last night's Santa Barbara Pinot. The cherry cola persists, but wrapped in a blanket of dark, wet earth. Black cherry and anise also come through in the nose. The palette is tart cherry with chalky earth, with a touch of anise. This one definitely falls on the earthy side of things, lacking a bit in the fruit department.
