Anderson's Conn Valley Vineyards
Napa Valley Chardonnay
I'm usually in the ABC crowd, but this is a Chardonnay I'll happily drink! 2013 was an amazing vintage in the Napa Valley for white & red varietals.

1 person found it helpfulJul 2nd, 2015The grapes for the 2013 vintage are sourced from Oakville, a change from previous vintages. This Chardonnay is bright yellow-gold in color and has a substantial mouthfeel and fresh acidity. Aromas and flavors of green apple, pear, and yellow citrus are layered and persistent throughout, intertwined with nuttiness and smokiness from time spent in 100% French oak. The finish is complex, long, and lingering. Kudos to winemaker Robert Hunt.

Oct 16th, 2014As round and fleshy as a Rubenesque painting, with 15.3% ABV, there is considerable force and momentum to this Napa Valley Chardonnay. Notes of toasted coconut, meyer lemon and ripe Bosc pear. On the palate, thankfully, a burst of acidity provides structure and much-needed tension. The finish is very long, with a subtle green herbal note hanging on the finish not unlike the pastoral rolling hills typical of high Baroque paintings. See Peter Paul Rubens Pastoral Scene 1636 for reference.

May 24th, 2018Let me preface by saying I’m not a huge Chardonnay fan. That being said, this is my favorite that I’ve tried. It’s full bodied with a bitter finish.

Dec 5th, 2017Golden color - honey, baked apple, cinnamon, with subtle hints of lemon rind. New world in style but not overly oaked. Creamy mouthfeel with golden apple notes, just enough acidity to stay in balance. Paired well with thanksgiving turkey.
