A blend of 62% Cab Sauv , 20% Cab Franc, 10% Petit Verdot & 8% Merlot, deep Ruby with aromas of ripe dark red fruits, cigar-box spice, floral and cedar notes. On the palate flavors of blackberry and black cherry with notes of licorice, pepper and smoky spice. Fine tannins, integrating well with oak, good overall balance, long finish ending with fruit and toasty oak. Good now, still has aging potential.

This really benefits from 90 minutes of air. The bouquet becomes fuller and more effusive, and the other elements of the wine seem to come together in a more harmonious whole. The cab franc in the mix adds interest and complexity without coming across as too herbal, and nicely complements the red and black fruit. We both loved it.

A very decent blend but I was expecting a little more with the extra age. Slight heat, seems to blur the edges of the flavours in the mouth. Nose is good with classic, blackcurrant, truffle and mushroom but again it seems to have potential but not leap out of the glass or decanter. Colour is solid red but not the deeper violet, purple colouring of other Napa juice I have tasted recently. This is a good but not great wine in my opinion.
