Asian pear, citrus, wet rain on the sidewalk. Weighty and great with chili and cornbread.

A tint of pink and orange, blanc de noir means white wine from red grapes. The label promises "Rosewater, passion fruit & citron notes". There are rose, lemon and green unripe fruit notes in nose. In the mouth, lemon, lemon skin, and tropical fruit (yes, that one) on the finish. Very slight astringency on the tongue, otherwise negligible tannins. Fairly dry, rounded mouthfeel. A tasty wine, reasonably priced given the price of regular (red) Pinot noirs.

Way more body and heft than I'd anticipated. After tasting, I thought, "Why do they make red wine from this grape at all?"
All joking aside, definitely new world with lots of tropical fruit paired with a really bright citrusy acidity.

A very nice change up in the white wine department - rather then the regular stream of fastballs with Chard/Sauv Blanc/Pinot G, this is a welcome and wonderful glass! A great balance of citrus finish notes and young red fruit notes, this occupies a place between a nice rosé & a solid, well structured Sauv Blanc. Full mouth feel, and pairs nicely with a chicken or pork meal or a good cheese…bold enough to be a solo sipper, but the finish notes may leave you wanting an accompaniment. Overall - solid stuff here!
