Amisfield produces a rather different expression from the NZ stereotype in its 2020 Sauvignon Blanc. This Central Otago Sauvignon is reminiscent of black currant cheesecake and lemon curd. Dry, light-bodied and tangy with a light spritz, it’s a flavorsome style best enjoyed young for its fruity richness. (Rebecca Gibb MW, Vinous, March 2022)

Pale lemon in color with a light golden hue.

On the nose gooseberry, lemons, green apples, grapefruits, bitter herbs, spices and minerals.

Medium bodied with medium plus acidity, crisp and refreshing.

Dry on the palate with limes, citrus, grapefruits, green apples, white pepper, minerals, herbs and lemongrass.

Long finish with bitter almonds and herbs.

This Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand is refreshing when chilled properly. Well balanced with mild complexity, but too bitter for my taste.

A good food wine with lots of grapefruits and citrus notes.

13% alcohol by volume.

Really solid SB. Fleshy, nice lees character and a touch of wood.

Excellent. Great fruit, perfect with seafood on a warm day.

Clear and clean. Smells of pears and fresh crisp stone fruits but tasted of white melon, honeysuckle, and candied lemon.
