This is a simple Cabernet Sauvignon from Lodi, California.
Showing black fruits with chocolate notes, vanilla, coffee and peppercorn.
Dry to off dry on the palate with medium acidity. Medium plus in body and a tad sweet for my taste.
Spicy finish with soft tannins and tangy raspberries.
A little hot at the back of the throat. Simple and fruit forward.
A good everyday wine and good for parties.
Aged for 4 months in Bourbon Barrels.
14.8% alcohol by volume.
87 Points.

Delicious!! Full-bodied, semi-dry, notes of blackberry, currant, cherry. Great with burgers. At K &J’s house in MN. Burgers in the sous vide w/ 7 seasoning. A steal at TJ’s , $7.

$7 at Trader Joe's. Oak! Alcohol! Mild tannins, medium body? It's difficult to determine other characteristics with so much oak and alcohol heat. It's weird but good. Calms down a lot after breathing. Not as much bourbon essence as I expected. There's a definite whiskey-caramel-vanilla sweetness in the nose along with juicy dark grape. This is a bit rude and crude but I really like it.

Another easy drinking Cabernet from Lodi. Big, rich and bold with black fruits and chocolate notes, vanilla, wood, spices and caramel.
Dry to off dry on the palate with a soft mouthfeel. Spicy and tangy.
Medium length on the finish with soft tannins.
Good by itself and a good party wine, too.

This wine is a great casual drink especially after some much needed aeration. But also as a Private Chef this wine was a perfect addition to the sauce of the Short Ribs I made for a client last weekend. It gave incredible balance to the tomato paste and melded wonderfully with the thyme and rosemary which wasn’t a surprise due to the vanilla. What made it so great is that fact that it didn’t lose it Cab presence in a sauce that typically can drown out most medium bodied Cabs. Definitely a new fav!
