This 13 year old is drinking very nicely now. This is a delicious Sangiovese from Tuscany. Drinks like a nicely aged Brunello.
Nicely balanced with great complexity and a great nose. Loved smelling on it for a while. Soft, rich and interesting.
At its peak now, but will drink nicely in the next few years. Needs 2.5 hours to open up properly, but good right out of the bottle, too. (So much better once it opens up, so be patient). Started declining after 4 hours.
This is a great surprise. Thank you Elvira for sharing this with me.
I paired it with cheeses, light appetizers and pizza.

Nose of plums and ripe red fruits. Hint of herbs, leather and tobacco. Flavors of dark cherry with vanilla and black pepper on the finish. Smooth tannins. Great wine!

Jul 22nd, 2018Color of ruby with brown and yellow note on the rim. Nose of sweet oak and dried strawberries, a bit leather, a bit thyme and nice savory spice. Taste is quite dried with powerful tannins, nice oaky note, dried strawberries, aldehyde, a bit peppery, flavors are saturated. Aftertaste is medium long with sustaining tannins, zesty, and a bit more berry note. Nicely done.

Apr 7th, 2016Day 1 was promising with nice aromatics, ample fruit and earth, balanced with supple tannins. Day 2 is showing much less interestingly, much softer, and a bit flat. Feels a bit tired. I wouldn't hold these too long.
