Opened this to impress some friends during a Pinot tasting. Upon opening we all agreed there was too much vanilla attributed to the oak. Wine opens up nicely after a while, but all-in-all preferred the 2011.
Edit: After 6 months or so in the bottle the oak aromas have dissipated and the wine is drinking fantastically. Sad to hear Gary Farrell has retired as the winemaker, but excited to see what they produce in the future.
