Incredible, great structure still, vivid and bright, rosemary, blueberry, long finish. This one could go another 20 years...

Dark gnarly fruit. Very rounded and intense. Tight still and super dense. Reminds me of cahors in its blueness.

Big, rich, elegant if a bit over the top next to the Bordeaux.

Wonderful wine with a beautiful aroma. This was quite a revelation.

En Magnum. One of a handful?

This is just astounding. And the power it's showing at this stage in its life is unreal. Tasted out of magnum.

1998: Given plenty of oxygen, while we passed around the remaining dregs pour. Deep plum aroma. A purity to the fruit, with a velvety mouthfeel, although, then the pithy tannic structure kicks in and reminds one that this wine will require more aging, yet also deliver something even more profound and ethereal. Like having lunch with Barack Obama while still at Harvard, the best is yet to come.

What an awesome experience to try Alvaro Palacios first vintage from L'Ermita. Beautiful wine.
