Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Big Parker score. Too much fruit. Not enough structure.

Too subtle.

Spiced vanilla and red currant on the nose. Red fruit and cedar and spice on the palate. Very approachable tannins...firm but approachable.

This is the second label of merus but they buy the fruit for both of these labels

Bought this at Merus when I went on a tour there. Was my first trip to napa. Saved it in my cellar for several years and opened it tonight to celebrate that everything is going just fine in my life. Nice bottle, surprisingly less ripe and more mineral than I expected, really tasty with a lasting finish.

Took 30-45 mins to open but developed well and the structure showed, dark cherry low acid and long tannins made for a very satisfying cab

Wow!! Outstanding. Doesn't feel like 14.5% EtOH. Fun nose.
