Learned about it in a New World vs Old World wine class. Bright berry fruit smell and taste, also some floral and earth flavors, full bodied

It’s a delicious, red fruit, jammy, light to medium red. Easy drinking for a hot day, but has enough robustness to compliment an assortment of cheeses and hams. Surprised me, as not one to usually enjoy such a red fruity wine. Alandes is extremely consistent with their wines, producing a variety of premium varietals.

2012 Vintage. Nose: Moderate Acidity, mild green-stem aroma, oxidative. Taste: Moderate tannin, Moderate spice and fruit notes. Finishes with a mineral note. Taster Notes: Doesn’t drink like a traditional Spanish Tempranillo. Carries a bit of oak on the nose and resembles aroma characteristics of an Italian red but drinks like a South American red. Definitely a fun wine that stands out amongst it’s varietal!
