Alois Kracher
No. 3 Zwischen den Seen Trockenbeerenauslese Scheurebe
From back when Luis was still living and making these wines. I believe this bottle had been opened for some time before it was served. Dried apricot, marmalade, honey and citrus zest. Sweet for sure...but there’s great acid too, giving this impeccable balance and remarkable intensity. The finish lasts forever and a day. I’m literally begging for blue cheese right now.

Nov 29th, 2020Very nice. Deeply aromatic, core of acid is powerful and lingers.

Sep 10th, 2017Orange peel, marmalade, apricot and dried fruit. Searing acidity remains as it approaches 20 years with plenty in the tank. Seldom do I find wines of this style that I could (with only a little less self control) tip back and chug all 375 glorious milliliters. Threw a nice golden, tawny color in the glass. Delish.
