Smoked aged ham, raisins, dusty, with a dark bitter tea note. Figs and prunes. Dark black Valrhona chocolate. Light coffee notes. Not too full, but concentrated with a chewy character, acid is fading, but has led this wine this far. Chocolate liquer sweets, Madeira cake, lavender, herb and a long meaty length. Very good.

A very good but not great vintage for this cuvée. Very modern in style though lacking the usual powerful extraction you might expect from Amarone. Nevertheless this is excellent in the rich dark red (almost syrup-like) berry expression. Loads of licorice and savory spices in the mid palate leading to a long mineral driven finish. Not so much acidity as others have reported, but enough to keep it fresh, and well paired with some filet medallions.

What says Saint Valentino's feast, than Amarone Della Valpolicella? Great deep dark stone fruits, thick and Jammy with a solid oak and burn. Decanted 4 hours. Fantastic.

Very delicious. High tannins balanced out by dry to off-dry and medium body. Great structure. Every sip produces a new flavor. Dark, dry berries lead to a soft floral finish. Lingers on the palate. Would pair exquisitely with a fatty steak, lightly seasoned.

Hard not to love amarone. Delicious, no doubt.
