Nerello mascalese rosato of a garnet umber hue; really a light red. Layers of strawberry, honey and red fruit. But with volcanic dust. Aromas tight at first, but then lush, blossoming into rosehips and burnt caramel, olives and red fruit. Super good.

Mar 25th, 2020Joyful perfumed deep ruby rosato. Mountain flowers, lava rock, cherries, saltwater taffy, blood orange. From 80+ year old vines at high elevations, using native yeasts and long aging in stainless steel tanks. Valcerasa wines are as breathtaking as Etna itself.

Fruity, zingy, earthy; light but assertive and with fabulous acidity; aromas of honeycomb so intense I kept smelling other people’s glasses to make sure it was really the wine. Magic.

A dark rose, essentially. Really surprising. A hint of natural character. Did pair fine with salmon. A super deal at Macarthur wine.

This was really great. The nose was fruity and fresh, a little ripe in the mouth after being open for a couple hours but it was more refreshing in the first hour. Great acidity and length. Thanks to Jason and Vicki for bringing!
