Vintage 2018 | No colour adjustments, light pear and honey in smell, the honey comes back in a refined taste, well balanced sweet and acidity. I do like my kabinett older but it certainly improves each year. Always comforting to taste Merkelbach. | paired with melon and ham and filled bell peppers from the oven.

I think this is the last vintage before the famous elderly brothers handed over winemaking duties to the Selbach team. I’ve always loved their wines-this has a low key, understated throaty quality- as if the petrol notes boiled & cooled before serving.
