Vintage 2012 | Very vivid and true to type Mosel Riesling, that seems so young. Must have eternal life? Slate mineral smell. High acidity, though I expected more sweet tones (geïnterviewd).

First vintage without the merkalbach brothers at the helm, & I’m not bothered at all- in fact has that blend of mouthfeel intensity, lithe & substantial still going for it. I think this drinks more like the sweeter kabinetts out there (that’s a compliment). For about 20$ a screaming bargain as well.

Old. Amazing. Still fresh but with development. Such good wine.

YESSSS! Flinty, smokey, lovely. If you took a green apple and roasted it over a camp fire, this is what it'd smell like. There was also a distinctly yellow-peach scent. Excellent!

This wine somehow gives the impression that its juicy acidity is layered. Or is it coming in waves? I might need another bottle to decide...

Questionable cork but the wine shone through. Apples and flowers.

Aromas of lime, stone fruit, river rocks, and white flowers. Palate is exceptionally balanced between sweetness and acidity.

At first thought this would be higher. It as it warmed and opened actually lost some of the acid that was keeping it balanced and became a bit too sweet. Still a very nice food pairing, and very classically mosel. Only 8.5%.
