I usually think Merkelbach must be put away ten years, but I see I found this wine irresistible already five years ago. 😳 what a treat, butterscotch, smell ánd taste. | Paired with Blanquette de Veau and cheeses. Makes my day.

Apr 7th, 2021Vintage 2007 | If a Merkelbach is 10+ years old, you cannot see the age in the colour... the smell gives a deep and enjoyable butter and butterscotch impression, pear, melon, minerals. A mouthfeel with a soft battle between sweet and acids while having a perfect balance. Incredible pleasing Riesling.

Jun 20th, 2017Vintage 2011 - I think they are Magicians, the two Merkelbach brothers... This is summum of balance, absolutely exquisite. A bit sweeter than anticipated, but who cares? Thank God Its Friday and for this wine, of course 🌞👏

Lazer beam acidity. So bright, with pristine stone fruit and petrol. Much younger than 2002er would suggest. #riesling #mosel #rieslingforstrength
