Alexander Valley Vineyards is owned and operated by the Harry Wetzel family. Founded in 1975, it is located on Cyrus Alexander's old homestead. Big Aromas of dark berry fruits and spice. On the palate blackberry and cherry with notes of cacao and cedar. Medium+ finish, firm tough tannins, not overly complex ending with a spicy character. Tasting Sample.

Dark berries and plum, cocoa, and spices. Good structure and a classic Merlot taste. A bit lighter than anticipated, and the acid could stand to mellow out over a few more years. Would be curious to try again in 3-5 years.

Nice dark berry fruit with some pepper and a bit of spiciness. A little heavier for a Merlot than I would have thought. Opened up nicely. Had more sediment than expected for a younger wine (2015). I enjoyed this and will pick up some more. Nice pp at $16.
