Simple pleasures for another scorcher in NYC: white & yellow pit fruits, medium acidity, light/medium body, drunk as an aperitif with charcuterie & grape leaves, etc

At first blush I got a hit of Brett but a vigorous decant aired it out and it’s drinking quite deftly. A new natural wine shop opened in my hood: Psychic Wines. So I had to chat the owner up on what he was into. This Sicilian elixir is a gentle beast. Grilled melon, a bit of sea salt, and an animal undercurrent of pleasant funk. Feels like summer love: sharp, poignant, and a bit sweaty. The first two sips I did not love. The more decant time the more I’m relishing. Very sexy wine.

Slight VA blows off relatively quickly; tart acid, great deeper complexity: sweet hay, cornflakes, brioche, melon, gooseberry. V good.

Very nice and very interesting. Quite amber in the glass, and some definite “organic” traits - unfined, cloudy, etc. Quite textured in the palate, lots of acid, pretty grippy. Little bit of grape-yness, but very good.

This wine ended up being very good, but it needs some air after being opened. First half of the bottle was pretty disjointed. Some Brett and yeasty flavors on the finish going on for the first hour. Last couple of glasses were much better. Smoked pineapple, saline, good texture.

This wine is both juicy and tart, with a smooth buttery essence. Definitely a slight funkiness in taste, but very well balanced. It opens up the longer it breathes.

2023 summer. Salty, tangy, just a hint of tannin and flesh from the skins - very nice
