A pretty nose of plum and cherry. Correct mid palate with good balance and intensity but not particularly exciting.

Wow. More like ripe and hot limestone Cabernet franc when we first opened but a few hours gave it truffles, meatiness, rich and slightly floral Nebbiolo.

It was fun to compare this to the 2007 produttori barbaresco. The produttori was all cranberries, roses, and brick dust; this had a darker edge with clearer tar and licorice notes, a fuller body, and more resolved, sweet tannins.

Intense aromas of tobacco and dried roses . Tobacco , earth , spice and plums are all nicely balanced in the mouth. Slightly drying tannins are the only distraction .

So aged and beautifully brown. Almost like drinking a brandy or something delicious.
