The first Alban wine I ever had was the 2003 Reva. My last bottle of this in my cellar…and it is unreal. Still has that iodine/roasted meat character on the nose, the wine is balanced, elegant, integrated - just a fantastic bottle of wine.

Might as well make it a 2003 Alban shootout, personally I prefer the complexity of the Reva, but just splitting hairs at this point.

May 19th, 20182003 Alban Reva Syrah. Wow I love this stuff. It is like drinking berry jam. Loads of concentrated fruit, and just a touch of iodine. Signature Alban. Why does only Alban and Saxum make syrah like this?

2003 Alban Reva Syrah
This was delicious! A beautiful example of a rich Alban fruit bomb with flavor and concentration that completely belies its 13 years of age. What a great wine. I am sure this wine will drink great at age 20 and maybe 25 but how do you keep your hands off it?
