The Viognier that restarted it all. Classic varietal character and dare I say balanced at 15+%. Opulent and flirtatious but not flabby. Dinner w/ John & Lorraine! #alban #swc

I categorically love Viognier but know almost nothing about it. Nothing to report here other than a mild decant and warming up to ~65F made this really enjoyable with flank steak and mushroom polenta. Yay Alban!

Jun 3rd, 2017Excellent viognier from John Alban. Lots of honeysuckle on the nose coupled with notes of melon. Medium-plus bodied on the palate with a good (but not lingering) finish. I personally like John's viogniers with a few years of age on them - brings out some awesome secondary flavors that just aren't there in this one yet. I suspect that this will be significantly more interesting in 2-3 years, so I'd recommend holding onto it for now.
