WNH Christmas in July and my gift was from my great friend @Mike R and what a showing. I agree with Mike that Alban is back and this wine shows classic Alban style. Rich and decadent-2 hour decant shows bacon fat, white flowers, camp fire and hint of game. I find the nose and palate are very much the same. Fine tannins that give tension but not over powering. Thanks again Mike for this gift.

Can’t decide if I like John’s grenache younger or older…but who cares: it’s awesome!

Awesome. Can definitely detect the effects of age - the intensity of the fruit has definitely diminished - but the underlying intensity is still there. Excellent!

A lush Syrah. Why it's called Grenache is unknown to me

Floral nose, roses, and sweet like maple donuts, anise. Thick, meaty, juicy but very clean -- acidity and spice, anise again, with smooth tannins. Rich finish. First Grenache I ever tasted some years ago, so that has an influence. 200th posting. Not intentional selection for this but could have been.

A delicious well balanced Grenache. My favorite grape. Probably better than God only Knows but at slightly lower price point. The 15.7% alcohol not a problem

A great Grenache, pleasantly surprised. Nice mouth feel. Deep intense, a lot of black fruit and berries. Hints at sweetness
