Soapy at open. Was a little flat then about 30 mins in the aromatics took over and it began to show some body.

Jun 26th, 2022Apparently March 12 is a little-known holiday called Roussanne and Stogies. Who knew? Anyway, I don’t smoke but I definitely do roussannes. The 2014 Alban is drinking incredibly well right now. Rich, deep golden yellow color, aromas of white flowers and honeysuckle with a hint of petrol on the edge, the wine is rich, oily, and seamless on the palate with a nice, lingering finish. First rate.

Mar 13th, 2021An amazing contrast from the whites we had last week in Châteauneuf-du-Pape - not better or worse, just different. This wine is terrific, but will be awesome in a few more years.
