After drinking the Kurni this was a very interesting bottle to look at

What an outstanding GSM. Very bold, yet not completely overwhelming. I often look for wines that I can have with pizza and this is one of those wines.

heady perfume compared to '13 ~ even darker, fuller & richer ~ a little more savory leaning toward cured meats & iron

dark fruits, baking spices, dusty cocoa & mocha, then a pop of brighter red fruit roll up

Focus and structured around polished tannins with a velvety texture.

Dark ruby coloration. No translucency. On the nose, plum, dark berry compote, smokiness, spice, smoked bacon, sulfur/minerals. On the palate, full bodied, cherry, dark berry, smoked oak and vanilla. The fruits are intense and jammy, and blends beautifully with the smoked oak and vanilla into a very, very long finish. Once it’s had a bit longer to breathe, notes of anise, chocolate and become more present making the wine even more rich and layered.
