After drinking the Kurni this was a very interesting bottle to look at
We understand why he is considered the best of the Kurni Boys gang
Very similar approach on the palate, just not as explosive, but thinking this was only Emanuele second vintage expectations are going to be super high for the future πŸ€™πŸ»πŸ€™πŸ»

What an outstanding GSM. Very bold, yet not completely overwhelming. I often look for wines that I can have with pizza and this is one of those wines.

heady perfume compared to '13 ~ even darker, fuller & richer ~ a little more savory leaning toward cured meats & iron

Dark ruby coloration. No translucency. On the nose, plum, dark berry compote, smokiness, spice, smoked bacon, sulfur/minerals. On the palate, full bodied, cherry, dark berry, smoked oak and vanilla. The fruits are intense and jammy, and blends beautifully with the smoked oak and vanilla into a very, very long finish. Once it’s had a bit longer to breathe, notes of anise, chocolate and become more present making the wine even more rich and layered.
