The 2011 San Felice Chianti Classico. 80% Sangiovese, 10% Colorino, & 10% Pugnitello. Pugnitello is a native grape to Tuscany. The name is derived from the root word "pugno" (Italian for "fist") because the grape clusters are shaped like small fists. 👊

Oct 29th, 2014Chianti Classico DOCG 2011, 13.5%. I'm not a Chianti lover, never was, but this blend of 3 grapes is truly a nice surprise. Yes, the Sangiovese is prevalent, but overall the wind is rich and round, velvety and elegant. You can taste the oak wood, but it is very smooth. 92/100 ....yes: finally a Chianti I might actually buy!
