Agricola Punica
Barrua Isola dei Nuraghi Carignane

A “nice” wine but not overly distinctive. A wine from the makers of Sassicaia but from grapes grown in Sardinia. Rather ripe fruit and 15%, which you can feel a bit for sure. There is some acid which helps keep it together

Fruity Carignan, just wonderful and enjoyable. Jammy style of Sardinian Carignan It went perfectly with my spicy Asian steak. Blueberry like flavor.

This is just like the sunny Sardinia: intense, rustic, and yet beautiful. Nice mix of red and dark fruits. Tobacco, baking spice, cured meat, and port-like bitter sweetness. Round acidity. Tannic.
A cooperation between Tenuta San Guido Sassicaia and a local coop. Made of dominantly Carignano with small percentage of Cab and Merlot, 18 months in French oak barrel, 30% new. I regret to open the bottle this young.

Really nice wine. Just a bit of Italian dirt tinge to the silky, herbaceous black fruit. Drink now and often.

Very smooth & enjoyable with or without food, vanilla notes. Tasting tour preparing for Italy.
