Oct 1st, 2018Wild violet, roses and black fruit aromas. Medium to high acidity, that makes this wine very interesting 7 years after the vintage. Wonderful persistance, with a wild strawberry and cassis aftertaste. At a very good moment to drink. I truely believe that the best south american wines should be consumed between 5 and 7 years after the "cosecha".

1 person found it helpfulMay 9th, 2020On the nose; more round ruby, ripe, perfumed, dark cassis, sweet candied black plum, blackberries, black raspberries, raspberries, candied violets, sweet dark rich soils and perfumed purple florals.
On the palate, the body is full. The palate is richer and the tannins are more velvety but, are still sticky and a bit chewy. The fruits are perfumed, ruby, ripe; black raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, creamy raspberries and cherries & strawberries as it opens. Dark rich soils, used coffee grounds, dark chocolate, some mocha & caramel, gravely dry soils, cigar, soft leather, light pepper, good, round acidity and a nice balanced finish.

The most powerful and forward of the three single-Finca wines from Achaval Ferrer, this is also from the (relatively) lowest altitude Vineyard site. Black fruit, silky texture, pronounced well -integrated tannins. Even young this wine has a rustic charm to it

Mar 31st, 2017Intense deep red fruit and slight spice. Slightly overbearing. Maybe I'm not sophisticated enough but this seems to be for marketing than substance.
