Much improved from the prior bottle of this vintage. There is significant fine sediment and taking more care in separating in the decant made for a world of difference. Decanted and enjoyed over 4+ hours. Was as vibrant and heady at the end as it was after 45 minutes. Deep structure and well balanced. Fruit was rippling. Just fantastic.

Not to decant this is even now let alone 5-8 years ago is a big mistake. 1-3 hours depending on storage. Fantastic with a Wagyu New York Strip

It’s hard not to love this wine. We should have decanted and probably drank this before dinner as opposed to force fitting it into the dinner. Could have held back since I suspected this would happen but I’m of the opinion that time is short and holding for the perfect moment that may not happen is not worth the risk. Pour and enjoy even if it’s not at the apex.

Very dark color. Lots of fine sediment. Needed a decant and an hour but still not the best Abreu. It’s was inward and heavy with muted black fruits.

Parker gives this a 99. Maybe but it needs 10 years. Certainly has the acidity to get there. Put this one away. I was hopeful but disappointed in how it showed.
