I enjoyed this.

Decanted about 1.5 hours.

At first opening - the aroma was quite ripe and fruity.

The wine became denser and showed more savory flavors as it aired out.

Paired with A5 wagyu strip steak pan fried and sliced.

Very good for an off vintage — a month ago

Fruit from Abreu Madrona and Thorevilos vineyards.

Decant for sediment (lots of chunky/fine sediment). A startling purplish reddish magenta color. On the nose: plum, creme de cassis, smoked meat, mint, vanilla nuts. Taste: This Songbook is singing! A smooth, velvety, balanced medium body wine with blueberry, bitter chocolate, red currants, spice, tar, and a minerally cedar semi dry finish. Nice start to the weekend! — 4 years ago

Much improved from the prior bottle of this vintage. There is significant fine sediment and taking more care in separating in the decant made for a world of difference. Decanted and enjoyed over 4+ hours. Was as vibrant and heady at the end as it was after 45 minutes. Deep structure and well balanced. Fruit was rippling. Just fantastic. — 3 months ago
