A big fan - celebrating some many things I don’t know where to start but I ran to exercise until my knees could not handle up to 2017 - quit running but kept drinking wine like I was running still lol - gained 60 pounds - decided last September enough - proud to announce I walk on average 14-15k steps a day - lost 53 pounds - don’t drink as much which sucks - but when I do I hope I drink amazing wines like this - stunning

@David L graciously opened his cellar up to us, and we are so grateful.
This is just disgracefully strong. Poise, grace and texture. A model of restraint, yet makes you sit up and take notice. I think I’m gonna swig from the bottle!

A friend had a “reduction party” as he was needing to thin out his cellar. Definitely a party I’m happy to attend!

To think how amazing this could be in 5-7yrs (and longer)...When I saw this bottle, I was ecstatic to try it. It had about two hours of air in the bottle and when trying it, two things stood out...cringe worthy young, and total monster. Everything about this was dark and black. Cassis, underripe blackberries, scorched plum, graphite and dried herbs fill the glass. Built like a tank with unforgiving tannins. High percentage dark cocoa, coffee beans, cedar, grilled blackberries and mulberries. Displaying Howell Mtn perfectly. Hold!

At ten years old, still way too young (double decanted). Cherry red cigar box with currants. Velvety, rich structured 🍷

Enough of the Chardonnay, time for the real purpose of Fridays,
Great right off the bat, only going to get better with a decant. Love that nose as I poured it

08 Abreu Howell Mt is about two thirds Cabernet & the rest of it is CF, PV & Merlot. This is a full-bodied powerful beast. I've had it open for 2 hours. Color dark brick red. The Intensity... just on this nose is impressive with floral & perfume. All encompasscing black frnuits. Black raspberry, blackberries, stones/bedrock...with lingering spices. The tannins are still quite firm. There will be no worries, putting this aside for another 20+ years.

Excellent. Fitting tribute to what may be our last dinner at CYC.

1.5 hour decant(lots of fine sediment). A monumental dark crimson purplish color with little signs of aging. On the nose: beautiful notes of blackberry, stewed meat, dark plum, spice, forest floor, and sandalwood. Taste: creamy, smooth, rich, and such a polished wine with dark fruit, smoke, earth, graphite, tar and a long spiced mineral finish. This Goliath is drinking well at year 15 with the decant, but no hurry, it's ready to go a number of more years. What a treat this Saturday night!

You have to be patient. Out of the gate everyone loved the Maybach which is just so delicious right out of the chute. Give it an hour (probably more) and this really starts to shine. Two hours into dinner this was amazing and just outshined the Maybach. To be clear I love both. Start with Maybach finish with this and just be incredibly happy. Happy anniversary.
