The 2017 Grenache (Santa Barbara County) is a terrific introduction to Angela Osborne's wines. Sweet red cherry, mint, dried flowers and anise add lovely aromatic nuance throughout, finishing with sneaky persistence. This is the only Grenache in the range made from fully destemmed fruit, and yet there is plenty of the brightness and lift that is such a signature of these wines. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, September 2019)

There are some beautifully restrained expressions of Grenache coming from California. This Pinot Noir look-alike is among my favorites. Pure red fruit with lovely florals on the nose. Medium bodied, satiny and bursting with crunchy berries and refreshing acidity on the finish. You could drink this chilled but you will lose some of the complexity. $33

12 months neutral French oak. 14.1% abv. 1170 cases. Sourced from five plots.

Translucent ruby. Baked cherry & strawberry flavors on the palate with dried tobacco leaf on finish. Elegant, medium bodied, with bright acidity . Good balance. Not fat or flabby, over ripe or jammy. Impressive. Too bad it was my only bottle!

Elegant, lean, floral, herbal, touch of spice. Could be mistaken for pinot.
