Have you tried the 2022 release of the 3drops Sauvignon Blanc yet?

Mr Spittoon and I thoroughly enjoyed it yesterday after we’d finished up in the office.

It’s wonderfully crisp and clean, just how I like my Sauv Blancs.

It’s a touch herbaceous with deliciously juicy notes of fresh lychee, gooseberry and a lick of passionfruit. It has lots of acidity but is well balanced and 100% smashable.

It had me craving a seafood platter and summer weather.

3drops is a wine and olive oil producer from WA’s Great Southern region led by the wonderful Joanne Bradbury aka @joanne3drops. Who kindly sent me this sample bottle (thank you!).

The Great Southern is in fact the largest wine region in Australia spanning 100kms from north to south and 200kms from east to west. Because it’s right down the bottom of WA it’s a lot cooler which is why varieties like Sauvignon Blanc thrive 🥳

A must-try Sauv Blanc ❗️

We actually cracked this 2018 Sauvignon Blanc a few weeks ago and it went down so bloody well! It maybe lasted half an hour max between the 2 of us!

So what did we think? Here are my notes:

It’s pretty clear in the glass with a hint of lemon & lime. On the nose it made me think of fresh grass and passionfruit - so fresh and inviting. While in the mouth it’s just so juicy and crunchy with a wonderful citrusy finish. Those passionfruit flavours flow through and also a lick of capsicum. Lovely wine 👌

This wine was sent to me as a sample, I was under no obligation to post about it.

Hello beautiful sunsets and Sauvignon Blanc.

This 2018 Sauv Blanc hails from 3drops down in WA’ Great Southern region. Mount Barker in fact. They don’t have a cellar door but they do deliver Australia-wide and are at plenty events around the country.

The brand is owned and operated by Joanne Bradbury who contracts Ray Williams as her viticulturist (managing the vineyard) and Rob Diletti as her winemaker.

2018 was said to be an outstanding vintage with great growing conditions in the Great Southern, so I was excited to get stuck into this Sauvy B, here are our notes:

Nearly a water-white colour in the glass with a slight lemon-lime tinge. The nose is floral and herby with some fresh guava notes coming through. While in the mouth it’s nice and dry with a bit of orange acidity and a rather elegant nature. Refreshing sand easy drinking.

This wine was sent to me direct from the winery as a sample, I was under no obligation to post about it.

Ash blonde colour in the glass with a rather tropical nose full of pineapple, pawpaw and a whiff of creamy vanilla slice. A big punch of flavour on the palate with a mouth puckering tartness and a long passionfruit cheesecake finish. The citrus character gives it the perfect refreshing quality which you crave after a long day. RRP $22

A big thanks to 3 Drops for sending this sample over.
