Bourbon Barrel-Aged California Zinfandel

I am not ashamed of this. It’s great to try stuff out high end or not. Gotta learn. Lesson learned. In a very serious pinch nothing wrong with a big old hot mess of red wine aged in an used bourbon barrel. At least for a glass.

A bold and rich fruit bomb from California.

Showing black fruits with wood, vanilla, chocolates, tobacco, maple, coffee, alcohol, spices and peppercorn.

Full bodied, spicy and bold, with mild complexity.

Dry to off dry on the palate and good for parties.

Might be too sweet for some.

Aged in Bourbon Barrels.

Interesting idea, but not all that great.

Consumed 12/2023. I think I just had this for sipping I did not have any food with it. 15.5 ALC by VOL. just was not a good wine for me. 

Not super tannes. Bold but with a light finish. Great with red meat. Deep dark berry finish. Notes of vanilla

Blackberry and leather with a gentle dry finish

Taking it for what it is, bourbon barrel-aged, it’s not bad. I’ve had better though.
