Hot damn this is good if you're into very warm California style reds. Let it air for sure. Plums, mildly tart cherry flourished on the back palette with a rotting raspberry note. + acid, velvety tannins, faint coffee expression and some chewing tobacco. The oak is a little big for the vintage but that's part of the Brunello charm for me. Seems a bit extra on the oxidation with half a fingernail of orange on the rim.. duck and this brunello. #winenot — 8 years ago

We’re snowed ❄️ in on a Friday night and decided to imbibe this generously gifted Chateau Potelle, VGS Vintage 2010, ABV 14.5%. It’s predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon, alongside Merlot, from Mount Veeder in Napa Valley, California. 🍷 🇺🇸
Wow, aromas and flavors are exuberant, concentrated, rich, and span a spectrum of characteristics from candied plum, ripe black cherry, and crème de cassis to black olive and crushed violet, to nutmeg, cardamom, and clove, to leather, tobacco, smoke, meat, and earth.
Tannins and mouthfeel are supple and smooth. Acidity is present, lending balance.
This wine is bold and is drinking beautifully now, though it has potential for further aging.
Cheers!
