First things first, massive QPR Chablis. Creamy lemon custard wonderfully cut by a crisp acidity. Nicely balanced. I will freely admit, the buttery and oaky Cali Chards favorited by my female elders completely turned me off from the varietal. For starters, those particular expressions of the grape were/are gross. Secondly, it was what was widely available during my youth for secret party wine chug circles. Which for many, I am sure brings back similar hazy toilet bowl "flu" nightmares. This, however, is not my mom's Sonoma margarine. Lovely wine. — 9 years ago

Intoxicatingly fragrant of tilled soil and roses, super dark red fruits, and great glass play of acidity and tannins. WOTD. #germansyrah — 8 years ago
