Needless to say, we slayed some dragons tonight. Let the birthday week continue!
This was the one wine that was poured blind from the evening. I guessed Napa (check), I guessed early 2000s (check), but figured it a petite sirah, mainly due to the amount of lively fruit in this! Since my experience with Caymus is limited to the 40th anniversary, you can imagine how my eyes were opened. At 16yrs old, this was blueberry pie, cassis, chocolate liquor and great oak integration. Tannins were PERFECT at this point. Open if you have it! — 8 years ago
Cmon, I didn't even get my wine up before NY scored...booooooo!
Ok, this is about as domestic red as it gets, lets do this. Hey and we score to tie! Good luck already #rockthered #purpledrank
Big and rich, but restrained in a way too. This isn't a huge fruit bomb at 13.7%. Pretty smooth tannins, still big and present, but they're silkier than I was expecting. Raspberry, strawberry, cherry, subtle smoke, hint of vanilla?, tasty! See, I like purple drank :) — 9 years ago

Dark, full bodied, smooth 🍒 cherries, dark cocoa notes, slightly dry finish. Our baby loves it! Lol. #purpledrank #mamasippycup — 8 years ago
