Vintage 2011 / what a totally different wine #sangiovese can give from one terroir or the other in #tuscany. This #morellinodiscansano is made with 85% sangiovese and 15% cabernet sauvignon and canaiolo. Very different compared with eg chianti. The wine gives beautiful red fruit / cherries when opened, clearly tannins even after 8 y, and a characteristic nice bitterness. It’s not easy, a wine with character. After 4 to 6 hours aeration the wine has softened, shows spicyness. I love this docg/origin especially when it has ripened. — 5 years ago
