Saunders Vineyard Cabernet Franc 2004

How about a #CabFrancWednesday? Let's try this nicely aged one from Carmel Valley.

Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.

Nice nose of blueberries, cherries, strawberries, light vanilla, earth, licorice, wood, vegetables, light green pepper, pencil lead, dark coffee, black pepper, herbs and spices.

Medium-bodied with medium plus acidity, soft and elegant with nice legs.

Dry on the palate with blueberries, black currants, raspberries, earth, vanilla, licorice, graphite, leather, black pepper and beef jerky.

Nice long finish with soft tannins and tangy cranberries.

This is a great Single Vineyard Cabernet Franc from Monterey County. Well-balanced with a soft mouthfeel, and complex with a tangy finish.

This 14 year old is very enjoyable by itself as a sipping wine. Showing a smooth and elegant structure.

At this time, this can be a Pinot Noir lover wine. Delightful and delicious.

I paired it with cheeses and light appetizers.

14.5% alcohol by volume.
