May 20th, 2023Fantastic Hermitage from Chave’s negociant business, essentially made with the fruit that doesn't end up in the 'Domaine' Hermitage Blanc (the $300 one). Blend of Marsanne and Roussanne primarily sourced from the Maison Blanche, a lieu-dit at the top of the Hermitage hill, as well as some fruit from l’Ermite and Peleàt. Fermented and aged in barriques for 18-24 months. Beautiful nose. White fruit, exotic, floral notes. Full-bodied, honeyed, rich. Great texture. Extraordinary

Honeyed peaches, lemon custard, and as one taster rightfully noted, cotton candy and saltwater taffy. Very perfumed with some intense floral notes that trick the senses in the wake of all the confectionary aromas.
Incredible, long finish that turns from racy to creamy as it settles on the tongue. In a word, awesome.
