Despite being slathered in American oak, I enjoyed this jammy, round, creamy red. Even with its unctuousness, it wasn’t dull in the mouth nor tiring to drink. Definitely not a daily pull, but likeable for what it is.

My first experience with alicante bouchet all on its own. It's normally found blended in small percentages in big Zinfandel blends from California. Indeed, this grape shares the same basic flavor profile as American zins, with their flavors of blueberry, black pepper, and cocoa powder. Rather a nice surprise! 100% Alicante Bouchet. 3/2/22.
