Viña Alberdi Reserva Rioja Tempranillo

More firepower and depth than usual from the Viña Alberdi.

This 2011 has to be one of the screaming values in the Riserva category. Sweetly aromatic, dried cherries, floral, clove, Indian spice, leather, coffee, vanilla, hint of dried tobacco leaf. Lean structure, med + acidity and grainy, bone dry tannin. Just a very classy and very delicious offering for a modest price.

Super well executed traditional rioja! Red fruits, cedar, pepper.

Lovely and smooth, but not rhe greatest depyh in flavour I thought.

I'm not very experienced with Tempranillo but this was very enjoyable. This was a gift and I'm glad I have one more!
