Healthy dark red with ruby tones. Mature, sauvage, expressive scents of blackberry, truffle, leather, violet, game and spice cake, along with a whiff of Band-Aid. A fairly plush, alluring midweight with lovely breadth and grain and a distinctly wild, mature character to its savory dark berry, leather and meat flavors. Nice restrained sweetness and texture. Finishes with a broad dusting of substantial tannins and good length. A tad dry-edged but still quite good, although fans of more polite wines may want to give this a pass. Striking in how unlike any other Opus this was. This was Bordeaux by any blind, and a good one at that, notably in the restrained dark red fruit and gentle application of oak. Feminine and medium-bodied, it was wonderful. I’d drink up, though, as it whispered a turn to dry after the long finish.

Exceptional. Power with subtly. Open knit and plush nose. Sexy on the palette. Reminds me of @Bill Bender.
This is a poster-child for balance and restraint. First growth in every way.

Nice wine but not complex. Young and fruity. Lacks impact on the finish.

Classic opus. Hints of spice and tobacco. Smooth all the way through.

A superb wine and excellent vintage. Drinks very smoothly. Well balanced with both lighter of plum and darker notes of oaky chocolate.

Full bodied and complex with just the beat hints of spices and currant.
