Sauternes Sémillon-Sauvignon Blanc Blend

’88, ‘89 and ‘90 are probably my favorite consecutive trio of Yquem vintages and 88 starts this trio in fine fashion, absolutely perfect tonight and infinitely aromatic in its layered, complex and intensely forward bouquet. The palate is wonderfully rich, silky, racy and viscous with the most perfect balance of primary and secondary character. Still so young! But in an incredible spot.

Dark gold. Intense and tangy with gorgeous marzipan and honeyed fruit. Some age but great acidity and purity

Candied apricot smooth. Heavenly served with fois gras before the meal. Hard to beat

A good amount of honey notes of coconut candied pineapple vanilla creme smooth and creamy still has wonderful freshness very well built still quite youthful

Two bottles. First lacked any acidity whatsoever. Second was better but for Chateau Yquem was very very disappointing.

Hard to desire more.
