It took about three nights for this one to shed the funk. Very leesy and phenolic at first, displaying odd chemical, wet wool and hair salon aromas. Good acid and rich mid palate. Bruised apple character that I sometimes encounter even in young Savennières. Fairly one-dimensional fruit character right now but I would bet on it to develop well with age. At the moment a complicated wine that is still finding itself.

Apr 15th, 2018Really enjoying Savennières lately, especially this producer. This 2014 is steely, with zippy acidity showcasing citrus and green apple aromas and flavors. Great now and probably worth laying a couple bottles down for later.
