Has the distinctive mountain fruit nose. Ripe concentrated black cherry and bittersweet chocolate on the front of the palate. Back of the palate you get this espresso and black fruit that rolls into a loamy smoked finish.

2013 Vintage. Old-school Napa style. Huge fruit balanced with high tannins/acidity. Massive and has at least two decades of good drinking left but firing right now. Hard to imagine it getting better. Decanted for an hour before tasting.

Great Rattlesnake Cab... 98 pointer from Parker or James Suckling, but I was very surprised how present the tannins were. Jammy, velvety Spring Mountain fruit, but long tannic finish. Very enjoyable, but still needs more time in the bottle.

My favorite Spring Mountain winery and my favorite wine from them. Top of the mountain on steep slopes. Got introduced to them personally 12 years ago, and have been a fan ever since. Deep color, garnet rim, balanced and medium tannin.
