Eyes wide open. Steely, mineral, lean. Bright. Needs food.

There's a reason we were tipped off that this is the best Riesling producer in the Finger Lakes. Well balanced acidity and subdued citrus notes and alcohol.

Off the beaten track at #WBC15, we've tasted a stunning lineup from Hermann J. Weimer, the main theme of which is incredible acidity plus minerality. These aren't particularly fruit forward, they are lean, with discreet notes of stone fruit, a touch of unripened passion fruit and lemon zest. The texture is the star of the show—slately-chalky notes, and a fine, lingering finish.

This is stupid. I just can't believe this is New York. Maybe I just now know what New York is capable of? Really sets the bar. This is listed as dry, but it has a touch of RS. It is elegant and spectacular.

2014- dry, reminiscent of stone fruit, green apple skin-on, key lime, medium body medium plus acidity.

Dry, but not flinty, with a touch of fruit and a lot of minerality. Peach, apricot, apple, and honey. Light and crisp!

Yet another great vintage of what I consider a standard of FLX Riesling. Beautiful nose of lemon/lime and minerals with a slight floral component. Green apple with a hint of lemon on the pallet. Perfect balance and body with gripping acid. It is amazing as to how positively consistent this wine is year after year. Fresh and vibrant after almost three years in the bottle. Revisited this one in July 2019. Still excellent!
