Tawny color with reddish amber rims. Translucent. Fragrant and at times intoxicating nose. Notes of bing cherries, violets, moist dark soil and a little wood. Pleasant in the mouth. No oomph though. Fruit has faded a bit. It’s all about the nose with this one.

Beautiful showing. Gorgeous fruit, hints of cola, and a little sour note on the finish. Well balanced and complex. Not a home run, but this is why you age and drink Burgs

From magnum. Still very primary. Has sweet rich fruit and the vintage acidity that both compete with each other. Nice now with lots of air, but needs more time in the bottle.

The 1995 is a bit more austere and spiced with that mint menthol exotic spices the 1996 has quite a bit more fruit black the 1995 has more red fruit strawberry more savory but both wines are very complex and long on the finish. Lost excellent but I like the 1996 better
