Love Dave's wines even though he has since departed. The Struie is Eden/Barossa in a glass and a little less distinctive than some of the other wines. Still plenty of black berries and cool forest bark with a little spice to match.

Takes me back to my early Australian wine career, pure stewed plums, blackberry, bay leaf. rich mid palate with black fruit and tobacco. Fabulous length and surprisingly balanced acidity. Benchmark.

All I need to say is this is the #barossa. A great example of what is really being done with #aussiewine and shiraz in this region.

Well, I like it. Severely precise. Don't shy away from this. Not a good food wine.

Lots of blueberry from the beginning to the end. Shiraz from Barossa valley in Australia. From the wine bible, "Torbreck (named after a forest in Scotland) was founded by the indomitable, insatiable David Powell, a man who seems like he could stare down the end of a gun barrel... and chuckle." Bough it from Woodbury Cellars @50% off.

Got better as it got some air. Still not Australia's best.

Love this winery/winemaker and I have the fondest memories of my visit there, but this wine didn't do it for me. Not enough umph.
